Nancy Varvil of Fayetteville's urban-forestry board invites residents to nominate property for sustainable-landscaping award

Help us reward sustainable landscaping
The City of Fayetteville Urban Forestry Advisory Board announces a competition for best examples of sustainable landscapes by presenting an award to one residential property and one commercial property. Winners will be selected from outstanding (1) Design and Aesthetics, (2) Preservation of Natural Environment, (3) Environmental Best Management Practices, and (4) Attraction to Wildlife. A team of horticultural and landscape architect judges will determine the winners using a point system with the four categories listed above (see link below). Winners will receive a recognition sign to be displayed on the property. Anyone may nominate a property. Nomination forms due by May 15, 2012.
